Maryn's five month post is way overdue...I'm going to have to do her 6 month post in 2 weeks! Regardless, we really did take these pictures the day she turned 5 months. Still growing and changing every day. She isn't showing any desire to become mobile in any way (which is okay with me, haha). As soon as you put her on her stomach she almost immediately rolls over and plays contentedly on her back. No scooting, nothing. Maybe next month. :) We have, however, been working on sitting up unsupported. She can only do it for a few seconds but she's getting better and better. She is becoming much more interactive - responding to her name, babbling, expressing happiness and discontent (without crying!). She is loving books and singing songs. She is also becoming more purposeful with her toys, picking out the one she wants, violently banging it on the ground, observing it from every angle. Her feet have become a recent toy of choice, she's started grabbing them, trying to put them in her mouth; it's hilarious. She has also started reaching out her arms to be picked up, which is my favorite development this month. It is so sweet, makes me feel loved and wanted! :) Along with this, however, is the beginning of stranger aversion; if someone she doesn't know takes her in their arms with out giving her a chance to warm-up, she gets so scared and screams! Kind of inconvenient at times, but it is fun that she prefers her momma and daddy. :)
Next month: solid foods - yay!
She's so cute! :)
ReplyDeleteMy kids didn't sit until about 6 months and crawl (army crawl) until about 8. :)
